LABIAPLASTY
Benefits
Labiaplasty is a plastic surgery procedure which reduces the size of the labia minora and/or the labia majora (outer folds of skin surrounding the vaginal opening). A labiaplasty can also be performed following disease, injury, or especially after childbirth when the skin is stretched.
Treatment
Labiaplasty usually takes about one to two hours to perform, while the patient is under local anesthesia. this is generally performed on the inner lips (labia minora). For labiaplasty of the inner lips, we will reduce the excess tissue by removing a wedge-shaped section from the center and bringing together the top and bottom. This technique keeps the normal labial edge. The excess skin and/ or fat are surgically removed.
Recovery
Typically, patients are usually able to walk comfortably within a couple days and may return to sexual activities within 4-6 weeks.
